Exhibition promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly digital technology
Mar 27, 2026
IMAG Hall
From 01 to 30 of April 2026
To mark Grenoble Alpes University’s Eco-Responsible Digital month, the IMAG hall is hosting a travelling exhibition dedicated to sustainable digital practices.
Comprising 11 A0-sized posters, this exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the Toulouse Institute for Research in Computer Science (IRIT), GRICAD, and several partners committed to environmental transition, including the CNRS and the VerIT project.
An educational initiative to raise awareness of digital frugality.
This exhibition is aimed at all members of the higher education and research community (HERC): staff, lecturers, researchers and students. Its aim? To raise awareness of the challenges of digital frugality and to suggest practical ways to reduce the environmental footprint of our digital practices.
The posters cover a wide range of topics, from the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology for digital equipment (poster 2) to the social and health impacts of digital technology (poster 4). Other posters explore the knock-on effects of digital solutions (poster 5), changes in practices driven by data-related tools and digital services (posters 6 and 7), and eco-design (poster 8). Finally, the barriers to digital frugality (poster 9) and solutions through ecological redirection (poster 10) are also highlighted.
